てぬぐい　猫がいる君の傍らに柄

まねき猫の由来：浅草花川戸に住んでいた老婆が貧しさゆえに愛猫を手放したが、夢枕にその猫が現れ、「自分の姿を人形にしたら福徳を授かる」と言ったので、その猫の姿の人形を今戸焼（今戸人形）の焼き物にして浅草神社（三社様）鳥居横で売ったところ、たちまち評判になったという。猫は老婆の元にきっと戻ったことでしょう。

私は幼少のころ、猫１５匹と暮らしていた事があります。
猫の柔らかさ、温かさ、優しさは今も懐かしく思い出されます。
この柄はいつかまた猫と一緒に暮らしたい、そんな願いを込めています。

When I was a child I have lived with 15 cats.
The softness, warmth, and kindness of the cat are remembered nowadays.
